IV Therapy

Intravenous therapy delivers fluids, vitamins, and antioxidants directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the variable absorption of the gut. The mechanism is straightforward; the experience is quiet — a comfortable chair, a small needle, and forty-five minutes to an hour of stillness.

At Simply Me, IV therapy is administered by clinical staff, in a clinical setting, with formulations chosen based on your goals and a brief medical screen. We are deliberate about what we offer and equally deliberate about what we do not claim it does.

How it works

When a vitamin or fluid is taken by mouth, the gut decides how much actually reaches the bloodstream. Absorption varies by individual, by formulation, and by what else is present. Intravenous administration removes that variable. What is in the bag is what enters circulation.

For hydration, the value is immediate: fluid replacement is faster and more complete than oral intake. For micronutrients, the value is bioavailability — vitamins and antioxidants that may be poorly absorbed orally can be delivered at therapeutic concentrations.

Different formulations target different goals. A Myers-style cocktail combines magnesium, B vitamins, and vitamin C in a balanced infusion. NAD+ infusions deliver a coenzyme involved in cellular energy metabolism. Glutathione, an antioxidant produced by the body, can be added to several protocols. We discuss what is appropriate, and what is not, at consultation.

We do not claim that IV therapy treats medical conditions. It supports hydration and nutrient repletion in patients who choose it for those purposes.

What to expect

A brief intake reviews medical history, medications, and the formulation you are interested in. Vital signs are checked. We place a small IV catheter, in the arm or hand — a quick pinch, then comfort.

The infusion itself runs at a measured rate. Most protocols take thirty to sixty minutes. NAD+ runs longer. You may read, work, or close your eyes. We monitor throughout.

When the bag completes, we remove the catheter, place a small dressing, and ask you to drink water. Most patients leave feeling well-hydrated. Effects beyond hydration are individual and subjective.

Who it’s right for

  • Adults seeking hydration support — recovery from travel, illness, or exertion
  • Patients interested in micronutrient infusions as part of a broader wellness plan
  • Those drawn to formulations such as NAD+, glutathione, or vitamin C in clinical settings
  • Patients who prefer IV delivery to oral supplementation for bioavailability reasons

IV therapy is not appropriate for patients with certain heart, kidney, or fluid balance conditions; for active infection requiring different care; or where a screening flags a need for evaluation before infusion. We screen at every visit.

After care

  1. Drink water steadily for the rest of the day.
  2. Avoid alcohol for several hours after the infusion.
  3. Resume normal activity. There is no recovery period for most protocols.
  4. Bruising at the IV site is occasional and resolves within days.
  5. Frequency of treatment is individual — some patients schedule monthly, others before specific events or recoveries.

Frequently asked questions

How much does IV therapy cost?

Pricing varies by formulation. NAD+ and other specialty infusions are priced higher due to ingredient cost and infusion time. We publish a clear menu and discuss what fits your goals.

Will IV therapy treat my medical condition?

No. IV therapy at Simply Me supports hydration and micronutrient repletion for patients who choose it. It is not a treatment for medical conditions, and we are careful not to suggest otherwise.

How long does an IV infusion take?

Most run thirty to sixty minutes. NAD+ infusions take longer — often two to four hours — because the rate must be slow for tolerability.

Does an IV infusion hurt?

A brief pinch at IV placement, then comfort throughout the infusion. NAD+ specifically can cause a sense of pressure or discomfort if run too quickly; we titrate carefully.

How often can I get IV therapy?

Frequency varies by protocol and goal. We recommend an appropriate cadence. We do not encourage more than what serves a clinical purpose.

Who administers the IV?

IV therapy at Simply Me is administered by trained clinical staff under medical supervision.

Can IV therapy be combined with other treatments?

Often, yes. Hydration before or after a procedure can support recovery. We coordinate with the rest of your plan.
